Silk Scarves Are Having A(nother) Moment

That’s it, we’ve made it. We’re officially past the two-year milestone for this pandemic. Who’d have thought, hey? And whilst we’re doing anything but commemorate, I can bet that for those two years the lifecycle of your face-covering probably evolved from quick-fix fabric to surgical necessity, with something experimental albeit stylish thrown in the middle (emphasis on the stylish here, unless you also got creative?).

I’m talking about scarves – those of a silky nature to be precise. But whilst kudos go to Olivia Palermo and her army of bandanas that served lockdown looks left, right and centre, we are, unfortunately, in no position to go against government guidelines. *Pause for slogan.

Waste not, want not, why not?

A one-piece-wonder that works towards effortless accessorising, the silk scarf is by definition the most versatile piece in your wardrobe. Whether you’ve chosen to wear yours French-knotted around your neck, wrapped loosely over due-to-be-washed hair or draped over the shoulders, styling-wise, the limit does not exist… unless you’re counting bandeau-styled tops because I can think of one (make that two) reasons why that never works for me.

With fan favourites including iconic prints from Gucci and Hermes, to Toteme’s signature silk twill number and slightly more pocket-friendly versions from Arket, Aure Studio and Le Scarf; let your virtual hangouts continue to be met with a centaur-style approach to dressing, only this time all wrapped up in a chic little bow.
